Over time, the OBP's have adapted well to their habitat and surroundings. Some of the adaptations are do to with predators.
1. One of the adaptations of the OBP over time has been the alarm calls when there is danger around, for example, feral cats. The sound they make is a rigid repeated 'zit-zit-zit' sound.
2. Another adaptations of the OBPs over time is their extremely accurate memory, as when they migrate north to the mainland, they will return within 5 metres of their place the year before, and same when they go back to breed in Tasmania.
